Our Little Mechanic

Here is our little mechanic after trick-or-treating. He had a great time walking up the steps to all the houses on our block and visiting our neighbors with Daddy. Then when they got back,
we looked over his loot. Here, David is enthralled with his new discovery of candy:

And then we had some fun playing with his matchbox car:
And speaking of food, here's a snapshot of a messy toddler on the road to feeding himself someday. He loves to 'use' the spoon after I've fed him almost all of his food:

Fall Fun

It has been such beautiful and unseasonably warm weather lately, we've had lots of opportunities to get out and enjoy the day. David is so easily entertained by sticks and rocks and loves exploring. Here, he paused very briefly for a picture with Mom.
Oh and he has been such a good helper as Daddy is installing our beautiful new kitchen cabinets (that he built!!). Seriously, David loves being Daddy's Little Helper! He cries when it's time to clean up.
And this is the work in progress...
Hmmm..... something's not right here, Mom. This was so cute as he hopped on his fire engine toy and then seemed quite confused until I rescued him and turned him around.

Back to School

Still a teacher at heart, I really do love this time of year. It feels like fresh beginnings and empty notebooks waiting to be written in. So while I'm not teaching school this year, there's certainly a lot of learning going on at our house and it's too cute not to share.

This one looks the most like 'school.' I decided at 18 months, perhaps the little student was ready for coloring. He was so cute trying to figure it out... and then decided eating the crayon was more fun so we didn't do it real long :).
Oh, and I'm training him to help Mommy later. Doesn't he look like a pro? He loves to watch me sweep while he plays with the dustpan and get's really excited when I'm done and it's his turn.
And then there's the "Daddy's Little Helper" training too. This is more fun for me as it involves taking a break on the couch while David is held in rapt attention and Lucas is making progress on our kitchen remodel.
And we've also taken the next step in potty training - underwear! - but I didn't think it was quite decent to post any pictures on that one ;)
